Tragedy
I'm
not about to touch you
I'm not about to cry
The truth is that I want to
But I’m afraid to try
I'm sitting here debating
While you're lying there asleep
both of us are waiting
Some things just don't keep
I may be leaving in the morning
I could be leaving in a year
The thing I need to know
Is this love or is this fear?
I
don't want to be
Another tragedy
I don’t want to look at you
and see Another rendezvous
That ends in tears
Began with fears
All this searching through the years
and when I look at you
another rendezvous
I’m trying to fight this feeling
What I’m trying to figure out
If I leave before you wake up
will I be left with doubt

He Said
I need a confidantI need a restaurant
I need a house to haunt
I need I want
There is nothing so sacred as your time
Nothing so bitter as your wine
Nothing as sentimental as I can find in you
He said where I come from
They have a name for those who walk the line
Come to find
A razor’s edge like yours
Sharpen’s mine
I need a place to be
I need reality
I want to spend a weekend
In that golden gated city

See my Vision
Before I was withdrawn
Closed down
and maybe even cold
but now... a warmth
and the way you make me feel is... like
Lying in the grass
Looking up at a carpet of stars
Walking in the jungle Costa Rica
Walking on a breezy beach
I hope to see my vision clearly
(This chorus was very much inspired by an amazing trip that I took with a group of 12 men and 3 guides to Costa Rica. I asked one of the local guides if he would translate the chorus into Spanish - and here is his translation. He included "de Manga" in the line about walking in the Jungle, because we were literally walking in our host's jungle that he carved out of the wilderness - and this was Manga's vision that we walked in for several glorious days!)
Tendido en el pasto
Mirando la alfomba de estrellas
Caminando en la selve (de Manga)
Caminando en una playa con brisa
Voy a ver mi visión claramente
Living on my edge
I recognize my fear
I take a breath
to open up to love more deeply

Love Too Quickly
I've been in a delusionsurrounded by confusion
and I've tried so hard to leave it
I could say I was a king
or I could say I was anything
If I could make myself believe it
I have awoken from my sleep
it was long and it was deep
but I've finally awoken
I fall in love too quickly
I crawl back out too slow
I return to love too often
like there's nowhere else to go
The look behind your eyes
The cold grey-blue sky
when will I be coming home
The message when I call
Your voice then, after all
You know, I used to be alone
Don't mind I get this way
with the first breath [I breathe] each day
and the first words that I've spoken
There's no where else to go
It's the hardest thing to say
There's nothing else but fear
Can you tell me what is true
What is really true for you
what's the hardest thing to hear?
Appearing now before you
As word is to a sound
I hope that I can find you
I hope love can be found
There's nowhere else to go
There's nowhere else to go
There's nowhere else to go
